Congratulations to the 2018 Chief Architect Design of the Year winners!
Throughout 2018, Chief Architect held a monthly design contest for our customers to showcase their work. This year, we had over 175 renderings submitted for our Residential, Remodeling, and Kitchen/Bath/Interiors Design Contests.
Each month our Facebook fans were asked to vote for their favorite design. The winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) were entered into our year-end Design of the Year contest in December. Voting was open until January 9th and we are pleased to announce the winners! Discover more about the contestants through our Featured Contest Winner stories.

Remodel/Addition Category
Grand Winner – Nathan Ensminger of Heartland Home Improvements Inc.
“This is a remodel/addition design for our customer who wanted to enjoy his backyard again. The pergola you see is not a simple cedar pergola, it has motorized louvers so with a touch of a button, you can have a pergola or a closed roof. This is a product from Cardinal Architecture that we are one of the few companies certified to install in our area.”
Kitchen/Bath & Interiors Category
Grand Winner – Zak Rathgeber of Livara Design Inc.
“This design is for an inner-city client that had an emphasis on “Entertaining”. They wanted lots of seating in the kitchen where the action is, as well as a modern feel but not too sterile. I think we accomplished their vision, starting construction soon!”
