Jeremy Stevens works with his wife Danielle Stevens on the HGTV show “100 Day Dream Home.” On the show, the couple work with Brian and Mika to leverage Chief Architect Software’s power, and deliver a dream home in 100 days or less.
When we discovered, by way of the Facebook group Chief Architect Users Showroom, that one of our users was designing with Chief Architect on Television, we had to know more.
Danielle Stevens met Brian and Mika of HGTV’s 100 Day Dream Home at a networking event in Tampa, Florida. She shared Jeremy’s work with them. They loved that he could design in 3D, loved it so much in fact, that they asked him to help design their own personal dream home. Chief Architect is used mainly behind the scenes, that is until the Season 2 finale, Episode 8 which aired March 8, 2021. Here, you can see the program used to demonstrate different roof styles for Mika and Brian’s Dream Home.

Jeremy’s Introduction To Architecture
Jeremy is originally from Michigan but currently resides in Tampa, Florida. After his time in the Army, he worked as a framer on a construction crew building houses in Raleigh NC. That sparked his interest in learning how to design homes. He then decided to go to college to learn architecture. His academic experience includes an A.A.S degree in Architectural design from Guilford Tech in NC, a B.S degree in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University in AL, an MBA from American Public University in WV, and a Masters in Construction Management Degree from Western Carolina University. Jeremy prides himself on developing his own unique style of homes. Each design is customized beautifully to fit each client’s specific needs and lifestyle. His favorite style of design is mid-century modern and Spanish revival.
But how did Jeremy start designing with Chief Architect? Jeremy went to work for a remodeling company in 2000 as a lead designer. There he was introduced to Chief Architect. It was the software of choice for this remodeling company and while there, Jeremy gained his experience. He then bought his own license and has been using it for over 20 years. Jeremy is the residential designer, and his wife Danielle is the director of operations at their company Bellevida Designs.
Chief Architect’s capabilities, combined with my creative expertise has allowed Bellevida to become one of the leading design firms in the area in only 5 short years that we have been in the area. No other residential designers or architects in our area are using Chief Architect, or even offer 3D virtual design of any kind!”

What have you appreciated most about Chief Architect in your experience with HGTV’s 100 Day Dream Home?
“Chief Architect is the only program that allows the designer to effectively and accurately communicate the client’s vision in a 3D environment and in real-time—thus allowing them to immediately see and understand the effects that their change requests have on the overall design—whether it’s changing out a door, a window, moving a wall, or changing the roof lines. We can eliminate 99% of the change orders that could occur in the field because there is a good chance that we have already exhausted other design scenarios. This allows the client and builder to move seamlessly and uninterrupted through the construction progress. Because making changes in Chief Architect is so easy and quick, it allows me to offer my clients unlimited revisions on their project; this is essentially unheard of in the world of designers. Brian and Mika loved this aspect of the services I offered and wanted to incorporate my design process into their show.”

Jeremy Stevens on using Chief Architect Software
Designing for HGTV’s 100 Day Dream Home is only the beginning for the husband and wife duo. Soon they will be working on HGTV’s Rock the Block. Jeremy already sees an advantage in speed using Chief Architect Software in his new experiences with Rock the Block.
A Client Success Story
Jeremy is grateful for the power of Chief Architect and its amazing ability to tell the story of the clients’ vision. A custom home client went to him in a recent job and hired him to design their dream home. Jeremy stated, “The client was very, very specific about what she wanted and how it was supposed to look—so that’s what he designed and presented to her.” Upon seeing her vision in full-color HD 3D, her reaction was, “I hate it!”
Had her plans been drawn using the industry-standard 2D black and white drafting program, she would have been stuck with a dream home that she hated… Thanks again to the power of Chief Architect, I presented her with the new design and she was blown away.”

Had her plans been drawn using the industry-standard 2D black and white drafting program, she would have been stuck with a dream home that she hated. He redesigned the home using his creative abilities and understanding of what she really wanted. “Thanks again to the power of Chief Architect, I presented her with the new design and she was blown away.” said Jeremy.
